Join Lotus Network and Denver By Foot to discover Park Hill!

South-Park-Hill-13

Join us on July 25th at 8 AM for a 2-hour walk through the charming Park Hill neighborhood.

Explore 14-16 properties and learn about the homes along Montview Blvd, Albion on the west side, and Glencoe on the east edge.

Like its northern neighbors, the South Park Hill homes range from large historic mansions from the turn of the century to 1940s-50s homes surviving the World War II boom. There are few scrapes and flips here; the neighborhood seems to want to hold on to its history and charm.

We’ll also visit Park Hill, plotted in 1887 by the very eccentric Baron von Winckler, who fled Prussia in the late 1800s and died in Denver with a flourish. In between, he built Park Hill, taunted his neighbors, failed at the races, and ultimately scorned everyone. He was, none the less, able to persuade the rich to locate their homes east of City Park. They purchased the homes along Montview Blvd for $5000, and Park Hill began.

We will discuss Park Hill’s fabulous history while admiring architecture ranging from Arts & Crafts to Tudor Revival to Spanish Colonial and more.
